TURKEY DAY CAST & CREW BIOS Alex Adams (Junior Schumer) Alex is a company member of The Shell Theatre in Times Square. He recently originated the role of Ward Minogue in an adaptation of Pulitzer Prize-winning author Bernard Malamud’s The Assistant. He was also a part of the 2009 Planet Connections Festivity in Corcaigh Irlandese’s Cafe Sustainable. For more info, check out alexcadams.com. Alison Crane (Lila Schumer) New York credits include Mud, Poor Hearts, Pinecone, Lemmings, Samuel IV, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Whiskey and Murphy. Regional credits include Proof, Sylvia and Steel Magnolias. Performed A Winter’s Tale, As You Like It, Macbeth and Wild Oats with Oklahoma Shakespeare in the Park. Film and TV credits include The Breakdance Kid and Important Things with Demetri Martin. She received her MFA from The Actors Studio Drama School at The New School. Christina Calph (Greta Schumer) Co-starred in Rescue Me and The Daily Show with Jon Stewart, appeared in Off-Broadway and regional productions of Victor/Victoria, Beauty and the Beast, Summer Rain and Fat Kids on Fire. Christina also danced for the NY Titans Pro Lacrosse Dance Team in 2008. Starred in Indie film projects Be Loved, Sexy Man, Rock in a Hard Place and Bodies of Work. Mike Connell (Marcus) Mike was born in Ireland and grew up in NY. After studying at AADA and HB Studios he went on to regional and dinner theatre around the Tri-State area, then took 20 years off to raise 3 great boys with his wife. Recently he’s been busy with short films, a feature, an Internet series and a few plays, most notably an 8-month run Off-Broadway as Fr. Damon Fitzgerald in “Flanagan’s Wake”. He’s excited to be performing the role of Marcus for the Strawberry Festival. Julie Hays (Bettie Schumer) Julie Hays’ recent credits include Ruby’s Story (Winner of New Works of Merit Playwriting Award), Nicky Silver’s Free Will and Wanton Lust, Onion News Network, Electric Company 2009, 30 Rock, the upcoming film, From Grace and many radio and TV voiceovers. Tamar Pelzig (Poo Schumer) Originally from the old City in Jerusalem, has performed numerously on Israeli stages and screens. In New York City - Off & Off Off Broadway credits include: Café Sustainable, Dina & Alba, Timber, Missed Exit, Street Theater Harry The Dirty Dog, The Witches, Touch Me, The Crucible. Tamar will soon be seen as Lucy Blair in Adolfo Doring’s feature film ‘Thinly Veiled’. Tamar is a graduate of Circle in the Square Theatre School and currently studies with John Anthony. Sherry Zannoth (Gram Schumer) Sherry Zannoth, known for both her singing and acting versatility, uses all her talents in her one-woman show, From Hello, Molly to Hello, Dolly about Molly Picon and Fanny Brice. On the more classical side is An Hour of Music With a Little Sherry. She has graced the operatic stage extensively and performed in crossover pieces including Street Scene, The Rise & Fall of the City of Mahagonny and 9 readings as narrator for playwright Bonita Corso’s play AVA. She is very proud to be a part of Turkey Day. Ji-youn chang (Lighting, Scenery & Costume Designer) Pear was her first and Turkey Day is her second Strawberry Festival project. MFA Design Yale School of Drama, Donald & Zorka Oenslager Fellowship Award in Design ’08. NY credits: Medea, Illyria, Ballerina meets Bboy & Exit Cuckoo; Yale Rep: Richard II, Three Sisters, Romeo & Juliet, Zero Hour, Hamlet, Speaking Our Mind and The Wendy Play; Yale Cabaret: Booty Fire, The Boss in the Satin Kimono, Electronic City and more. E. K. Deutsch (Playwright/Director/Producer) Playwrighting awards include TNT Competition Best Play (Family Reunion), two-time winner LamiaINK! International Playwrighting Competition (The Pen, Lovesounds), Little Theatre at Felician Festival Winner (Keeping Mum), Barebones Theatre (N.C.) Festival Winner (Burping the Baby), Finalist BMI/Lehman-Engel Musical Theatre Workshop, nominated for seven NJ Perry Awards for Best Production of an original play (Lost & Found). Anita M. Esteve (Stage Manager) Anita has worked both regionally and professionally as a Stage Manager for many years. Some of her favorite projects include: Seussical the Musical; Laughter on the 23rd Floor; City of Angels; Picasso at Lapine Agile and Play it Again Sam. Additional credits include Producer for productions of Art and Run for Your Wife. She has also directed productions of Of Mice and Men and Schoolhouse Rock.
